Flexo has just upgraded its main computer server to the new Power System, based on the IBM Power7 processor. This is Flexo’s 5th new system, all part of its computer strategy to add new equipment every 3 years. Steve Parker, President of Flexo commented: “To date, we have been very happy with our continuous hardware and software upgrade path that we have had through our IBM Business Partner, Modular Software in Mississauga, ON. As our requirements have grown, so has the price performance on these systems. I am especially excited about this newest system, installed on Dec 22. While our old system was anything but slow, this new one is a game changer. As a test, I ran a difficult 1800 page report on the new and old system. The new one ran the report in 1/10 the time! In addition, besides the increase in productivity in office batch and interactive work, our new Power7 is outstanding at running our escalating internet workloads.”
